To qualify for the help, you have to meet the income guidelines set forth and be a resident of the state. You will also have to submit any necessary paperwork in order to be approved. RCAC – This nonprofit organization provides New Mexico rental assistance for those who live in rural areas. Their programs will help you avoid being evicted, and they can help you locate affordable housing. Additionally, they offer housing counseling and other programs that will help people with resources that will meet their basic needs. State of New Mexico – This state government program offers rental assistance for those who have had a disruption in their income, which has led to them falling behind on their rental payments. The program will help you pay past due rental payments and get paid ahead. They also offer access to programs that pay for past due utility bills.
